Dual Identities (2013)
Plexiglass, transparency, digital photography, personal interviews, excerpts from the Art of Solidarity documentary De Donde Sean
This series of photographs and primary accounts explores the inherent duality of migration for first generation Americans. In doing so, it provides a space in which thoughts that are often unspoken can be articulated. The different planes separating image and text act as a metaphor for the physical and emotional disconnections intrinsic to immigration.
